L-Ispiżjara is the pilot episode for a new docudrama series called 'Storja Diretta' (History Live). It was written by Michael Piscopo and directed by Narcy Calamatta for Zararti Malta Cultural Association.

The series is based on the concept of time travel and features the protagonist Maria Victoria - a TV anchor - and her cameraman presenting live broadcasts directly from various historic events. The pilot episode covers the trial of Katerina Vitale, the first female pharmacist in Malta, who was accused (and eventually absolved) of ill treatment of her slaves.
