SUZANNE PISCOPO is a Professor at the University of Malta, as well as a Registered European Health Promotion Practitioner, Registered Nutritionist (UK), Professional Home Economist and a warranted teacher. Her work focuses on training future Home Economists and educators, with lectures on healthier lifestyles, food, health and consumer policies, communication skills, and education on health, food, nutrition, consumerism and sustainability. Prof. Piscopo has participated in numerous research and educational projects related to wellbeing and quality of life. She is a frequent speaker at community events and on the media on topics of sustainable, healthy lifestyle choices. Together with her husband, she created Fonzu l-Fenek, a children's character promoting healthy eating, physical activity, care for the natural environment and Maltese culture. They have developed various educational resources featuring Fonzu and his friends, aimed at teaching children about sustainable lifestyles, inclusivity and respect, critical thinking, creativity and cooking skills. The Fonzu initiative also promotes the Maltese language locally and in the diaspora. Suzanne holds various leadership roles in international and charitable organisations.
